In 2024, I had the privilege of attending several industry-leading conferences and events. These gatherings provided invaluable opportunities to network with fellow professionals, learn about the latest trends, and gain fresh perspectives on the future of technology.
OMR in Hamburg: We integrated NFTs into the conference experience, creating a unique journey for attendees. By collecting a series of NFTs, participants unlocked exclusive rewards, fostering engagement and excitement.
DMEXCO in Cologne: We launched a limited-edition NFT collection during a 15-minute panel discussion, generating significant buzz and attracting attention to our booth. We also distributed a second NFT at the Emarsys booth, further engaging the audience and driving foot traffic. The day before, we went a bit south of Cologne to the āBlockchain Reallaborā where I was able to speak in a panel.
Bananaconf in Tallinn: This unique Web3 conference provided a platform to connect with industry leaders and innovators. I had the honor of meeting William Entriken, the creator of ERC-721, the standard for non-fungible tokens. We also launched a generative art NFT collection during my presentation, showcasing the potential of blockchain technology in the art world. And I remember that I finally met Christian Wermke, the man behind the Handelsblatt NFTs in person. We went to a great sauna in Tallinn and continued in an awesome brewery for a nice beer tasting.
Nordic Blockchain Conference in Copenhagen: A focus on the latest developments in blockchain technology, this conference provided valuable insights into the future of decentralized systems. I still remember the intimate setting in which the conference opened in a bar the day before. And then there was this great city, Copenhagen, which unlocked creativity in all of us. I bought a piece of the art that was craeted there, too. Besides talking in a panel, moderated by Anna Graf, I had the opportunity to pitch SAPās NFT Management the day before. And we even live-streamed an episode of Labs Talk from the conference.
Merge Madrid: This conference, held at the stunning Palacio de Cibeles, provided a platform for deep discussions and collaborations with industry peers. I had the opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals and explore emerging trends in the Web3 space. In my panel, I discussed the role of Web3 communities and why brands should take advantage and join the space. Still remember to talk to Lucas Verra (POAP Studio) at the rooftop bar at the evening reception.
ECOM'21 in Riga: This e-commerce focused conference was an opportunity to showcase SAP Emarsys' innovative solutions. We highlighted the power of AI-driven marketing and the potential of NFTs to enhance customer experiences. We also organized an exciting NFT hunt, where participants had to collect NFTs from four different partners to enter a raffle.
Networking and Collaboration
One of the greatest benefits of attending conferences is the opportunity to network with other professionals. I had the chance to meet inspiring individuals, form new partnerships, and collaborate on exciting projects. These connections have enriched my professional life and opened doors to new opportunities.
Conclusion
By combining the power of conferences and Web3 technologies, we were able to create unique and engaging experiences for attendees. As we look to the future, I'm excited to explore new ways to leverage technology to enhance the conference experience.
